Farm and Vendor Spotlight - Part One

Using the highest quality ingredients, Salt Wharf's menu changes seasonally to reflect the best of the season's produce and seafood. By working directly with local fishermen and farmers, Salt Wharf is able to offer a unique menu highlighting Chef Chris Pierce's talents. We are excited to spotlight some of the local farms and vendors that make the Salt Wharf menus so special.

Dogpatch Farm

Located in Washington, Maine, Dogpatch Farm specializes in raising Mulefoot Hogs - an American heritage breed that produces darker, well marbled meat that is full of flavor. For them, the passion for humanely raising pigs goes deeper than just providing people with great tasting, local food. "It’s about safer, healthier food, supporting the local economy and cutting the carbon footprint of our food supply."

Daybreak Growers Alliance

Daybreak Growers Alliance is a woman-owned distribution company that delivers products from 50+ Maine farmers and food producers to wholesale customers, connecting Salt Wharf with the best of what's grown and made in Maine. The alliance also offers farm subscription boxes so you too can have access to the amazing products Maine farmers and makers have to offer. In addition t their commercial work, Daybreak Growers Alliance is a founding partner of Waldo County Bounty, an initiative that seeks to bolster food security in Maine communities.

Dooryard Farms

Founded in 2013, Dooryard Farm is a small MOFGA certified organic farm serving the Camden-Rockland area. Since their founding in 2013, the family run farm has been dedicated to an ecological approach to agriculture. They grow a diversity of vegetable crops and pasture-raise a few animals.
